👋 Meet Carolina
Carolina Rubio Oset has been appointed to the International Accounting Standards Board’s (IASB) Global Preparers Forum (GPF) for a five-year term. Currently, she is the Senior Director of Accounting at EDP, where she oversees financial reporting, technical accounting, and the application of IFRS standards across EDP’s international operations. That’s quite the resume!
💪 Her Expertise
With nearly two decades at EDP, Carolina has tackled complex accounting challenges. These include business combinations, financial instruments, regulatory accounting, and the implementation of new and amended IFRS standards. She collaborates with top management, external auditors, audit committees, and regulators to ensure high-quality, transparent, and comparable financial information.
🎓 Background
Before her tenure at EDP, Carolina spent five years as an external auditor. She holds a degree in Business Administration and Management and a postgraduate qualification in International Taxation. Her strong preparer perspective focuses on operational practicability, consistency, and faithful representation.

The Global Preparers Forum (GPF) is an independent body from the IASB and the IFRS Foundation. It aims to provide the IASB with regular input from the international community of financial statement preparers. GPF members are seasoned financial reporting professionals, selected for their competence and practical experience to contribute to the development of global accounting standards.
