The Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF) has launched a search for new leaders in the world of accounting. They are calling for nominations to fill top roles, including the Chair positions for the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), as well as a FASB Board member and several FAF Trustee positions.
FASB Chair
Richard R. Jones, the current FASB Chair, will wrap up his term on June 30, 2027. The new Chair will start their seven-year term on July 1, 2027. Ideal candidates should have a deep commitment to independent standard setting and a robust understanding of financial accounting and reporting.
GASB Chair
Joel Black, the GASB Chair, will also conclude his term on June 30, 2027. The new GASB Chair will also serve a seven-year term starting July 1, 2027. Candidates should possess a strong grasp of governmental accounting and the ability to lead in a complex environment.

FASB Board Member
Marsha L. Hunt, a current FASB Board member, will finish her second term on June 30, 2027. The new member will join a team of seven full-time members for a five-year term starting July 1, 2027. Ideal candidates should have extensive technical accounting experience and a CPA certification is a plus.
FAF Board of Trustees
The FAF is also on the lookout for a Governmental Trustee and several at-large Trustees. These positions require candidates with significant experience in financial, government, or regulatory sectors. Trustees will serve a five-year term starting January 1, 2027.
