๐Ÿค” What's the GPF?

The Global Preparers Forum (GPF) is an independent advisory group for the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the IFRS Foundation. Their mission? To provide the IASB with real-world insights from the international financial statement preparers' community. Members are seasoned pros in financial reporting who offer invaluable advice on the practicalities of IASB's proposals.

๐ŸŒŸ Why You Should Apply

GPF members don't just sit around discussing numbersโ€”they actively shape the future of financial reporting. The forum advises the IASB on the practical implications of its proposals and provides input on developing concepts. It's a chance to make a real impact on global accounting standards. Plus, you get to network with some of the brightest minds in the field!

๐Ÿง Who Fits the Bill?

So, you're thinking about applying? Great! But first, let's see if you have what it takes:

  • Active preparer role (e.g., chief accountant, head of external reporting)
  • Proficient in English (for those technical discussions)
  • Willing to cover your own travel expenses
  • Knowledgeable in IFRS Accounting Standards
  • Linked with local IFRS groups

Remember: GPF members act in a personal capacity and do not represent their employers. The gig is unpaid, but the experience is priceless!

๐Ÿ“… Membership Details

Successful candidates will commit to at least a two-year term, with the possibility of renewal for up to five years. The maximum total membership period is ten years. The GPF meets three times a year, including a joint session with the Capital Markets Advisory Committee (CMAC). Meetings are hybrid, so you can attend online or in person in London. These sessions are public, and recordings are available for those who can't attend live.
