👥 Meet the New Members
The IFRS Foundation Trustees have introduced three new faces to the IFRS Interpretations Committee: Gary Berchowitz, Claire Dusser, and Usman Hamid. Each of these professionals brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the table.
Gary Berchowitz
Gary is a partner at PwC and has over 20 years of experience in IFRS standards, working with multinational companies across South Africa, the UK, and the US. He’s a Chartered Accountant with a commerce degree and an Honours degree in accounting. Previously, he served as a practice fellow at the IFRS Foundation.
Claire Dusser
Claire, a partner at Forvis Mazars in France, has two decades of expertise in financial reporting and has been instrumental in the implementation of new IFRS standards. She coordinates international experts and chairs the IFRS committee for Africa. Claire holds a Master’s degree in European business from ESCP Business School.
Usman Hamid
Usman is the director of group governance and policies at Saudi Aramco. He played a crucial role in Aramco’s IPO and has a strong background in IFRS standards and complex financial transactions. Usman is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Master’s degree from the University of London.

The IFRS Interpretations Committee, consisting of 14 members from around the world, works tirelessly to ensure the consistent application of IFRS Accounting Standards. This is no small feat, considering the diverse economic landscapes and regulatory environments they must navigate.
