🚀 A Stellar Tenure
Antonia M. Apps, the Deputy Director of the SEC’s Division of Enforcement (Northeast), is set to conclude her tenure on December 1, 2025. Known for her strategic acumen and dedication, Antonia has left an indelible mark on the SEC.
“I thank Antonia for her steadfast leadership in her different roles in the Division of Enforcement and her commitment to the staff and the SEC’s mission,” said SEC Division of Enforcement Director Margaret A. Ryan. “Her strategic counsel and analysis, her willingness to take on complex issues, and her dedication to the staff and the agency have earned her the deep respect of her colleagues during her tenure at the SEC. I wish Antonia all the best in her next endeavor.”
🌟 Shaping the Future
Under her leadership, the New York Regional Office saw unprecedented growth and success. From January 2023 to January 2025, she oversaw over 600 attorneys, accountants, investigators, and more. The office brought more stand-alone enforcement actions and completed more examinations than any other office in the country.
Her tenure also marked the highest number of hires and the most investor education and outreach events in the New York office’s history. Antonia’s role as Acting Deputy Director and then Deputy Director of Enforcement on a national level further solidified her influence.

🎓 From Courtrooms to Classrooms
Before joining the SEC, Antonia was a litigation partner at Milbank LLP, where she represented clients in high-stakes criminal, regulatory, and complex civil matters. She also served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Criminal Division of the Southern District of New York, prosecuting high-profile securities fraud and white-collar cases.
Since 2016, she has shared her expertise as a professor of white-collar criminal law and procedure at Harvard Law School. Her illustrious career includes stints at prestigious law firms and a clerkship with the Honorable Fred I. Parker of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
