💼 The Role They Play
Created in 2010, the SMEIG is a consultative body to the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). Their main gig? Supporting the international adoption, implementation, and application of the IFRS for SMEs® Accounting Standard. This includes considering tricky application questions that might need educational materials and advising the IASB on updates to the Standard.
🤝 Personal Commitment
SMEIG members don't just bring their expertise; they participate in a personal capacity. This means they're putting their own professional reputations on the line to ensure that SMEs around the world get the best accounting standards possible.
"The reappointment of these members ensures continuity and leverages their extensive experience in the field," noted an IFRS Foundation spokesperson.
